SwearJar only collects the data strictly necessary to function:
- Server IDs — to identify which Discord servers SwearJar is installed in.
- User IDs — to track individual users’ swearing activity for moderation or leaderboard purposes.
No message content or personally identifiable information is stored beyond Discord IDs.
2. How We Use Collected Data
Data is used solely for:
- Counting swears per user and per server
- Displaying moderation or leaderboard statistics inside Discord
- Supporting administrative commands to manage the bot’s behavior
No data is sold, shared, or used for advertising purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
Data is stored securely in memory or a database accessible only to the bot. Standard security measures are applied to prevent unauthorized access.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Data is retained as long as the bot is active in a server. Removing the bot deletes all associated data for that server.
5. User Rights
- Server administrators may remove SwearJar at any time to stop data collection.
- Users may contact the bot administrators for questions about data usage or privacy concerns.
6. Changes to This Policy
Policy updates may occur periodically. Continued use of the bot constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
